Setting goals & Learning to be

At Acton Academy Kingwood, we challenge our Eagles to delve deep, and explore questions such as: Who am I? Where am I going? How do my passions and talents connect with the world around me? How can I serve a great need and even change the world?

We all have to start somewhere, so we need to set goals...SMART goals. Specific. Measurable. Achievable. Relevant. Time-based.

Our learners are seen in these pictures helping one another set their weekly goals. The older ones assist the younger ones. Then in return, the younger ones assist the older ones in this challenge. In this way, they are learning to set goals and make plans to accomplish them.

In this way, they take ownership of their learning by setting their own learning goals and participating in the governance process of their class. They practice and celebrate with each other, key character traits - such as hard work, integrity, courage, persistence, and grit, as well as kindness, grace, and courtesy. These traits are critical ingredients for a fulfilling life. 

It is our mission to help these Eagles discover his or her own path.
